Please note: This is a lot of small print, but it is important
that you read it, especially when it comes to needing help to resolve
any problems.
Learnpremium is an online educational service owned by the Guardian
Newspaper. EO members have been offered a joint, low cost subscription
to Learnpremium, a digital subscription service aimed at primary
and secondary age children and their teachers. EO has agreed to
pay Learnpremium a lump sum and is making a small charge to each
user to cover this cost.
Access to the service from now until October 2008 will cost EO
member £19 per family. There are approximately 130,000 pages
of online lessons and resources on a whole range of subjects. Due
to our agreement with Learnpremium we can only offer this service
to member of Education Otherwise.
Learnpremium resources include online lessons, whiteboard activities,
Guardian lesson packs, randomly generated tests, student support
and a daily news service for 9-13 year olds.
The web address has
more details of the services available. If you would like to subscribe,
please send your email address to Lynda
Hitchman for details of how to pay your subscription fee and
gain details of how to log on to the service. If you are already
a member and wish to subscribe to learnpremium online only, click
here.
Please note that membership lasts until 16 October 2008 only and
no refunds are available after the Password has been issued.
Free Trials: A free two week trial is available by contacting Lynda
for information.
Please note that, if you subscribe and should have problems accessing
the program or you wish to use the Test Centre, you need to contact
Lynda to resolve
the problem. If you forget passwords, again it is Lynda
you need to speak to.
The requirements to run this service successfully are:
Microsoft Internet Explorer - version 6.0 or higher
OR Netscape Navigator 6 or higher
Windows Media Player - latest version
Adobe Acrobat Reader - latest version
Macromedia Flash - latest version (although 7.0 runs perfectly
well)
Pop-ups - the whiteboard activities are produced using pop-up software
- if you have pop-up blocker prevention software installed on your
pc you will experience difficulties opening these activities. If
this happens, hold down the SHIFT key before opening the activity.
This should either force the window to open or prompt the blocker
to ask if you want to 'allow pop-ups from this website'. |
