| John Gatto is a retired New York State public school teacher. He is still involved with kids and classrooms, but in the alternative, 'free school' movement. He is an articulate champion for inspired learning and a relentless critic of the public (i.e. state/formal) education system that he says robs children of a proper schooling environment. He has been recognized by his peers both as "Teacher of the Year" in New York City and "Teacher of the Year" in New York State. |
